THE STUD FACILITIES

MANAGEMENT
Millfield Stud is run by Sue Jaggar and Brian Thompson who have between them many years experience in showjumping, eventing, breeding and producing horses, with the emphasis on quality not quantity.

GRAZING
Millfield Stud stands in 120 acres of well-fenced grassland amidst stunning scenery. Visiting mares will be kept in paddocks, separated from the stud's own horses, in small groups ensuring the mares well being and individual attention.

FOALING BOXES & STABLES
All our stables and foaling boxes are purpose built units, fitted with automatic water dispensers and feeding troughs. In addition all foaling boxes are fitted with cameras, which are monitored 24 hours a day on site. Visiting mares are kept in a separate building away from the stud’s own horses. The youngstock are kept in age groups in big crew yards through the winter.

SECURITY & CARE
Millfield Stud is also our home, this means we can guarantee 24 hours a day 365 day a year on site supervision.

EXERCISE FACILITIES
We have purpose built 25m by 50m sand and fibre outdoor ménage, a small indoor school with a waxed sand surface for loose schooling and training and a Clayden 5 horse walker.

VETERINARY CARE
The facilities at the stud include rubber-matted handling stocks and veterinary laboratory. These facilities culminate in an excellent veterinary care unit and excellent conception rates. Millfield Stud in partnership with Aireworth Vets is a BEVA DEVRA approved AI centre offering excellent value packages and individual attention. Mares are also taken for insemination by any Stallion worldwide using fresh, chilled or frozen semen and from 2007 embryo transfer will be available at very competitive rates.
