Candidatus is a son of the highly regarded Holsteiner stallion Cathargo Z who has been lying in second place on the German national federation's ranking list for several years now. Candidatus has been very impressive at all his appearances from the approvals to his first performance under saddle, which he won. He has a fantastic temperament and is a real charmer, which helped him obtain the top score of 10 several times at his performance test.

Candino's dam Sacenta is by the team gold medallist at the Athens and Sydney Olympics Dobel's Cento who has winnings in excess of over £250,000. His sire Capitol was one of the most coveted show jumping products in Holstein breeding. Cento also has some equally successful progeny such as Dobel's Cordina and Centus. Sacenta's dam is by the infamous Sandro and the mare line goes back to Grazie (Gralsritter) who is considered to be one of Paul Schockemohle's foundation mares.
