2006 NEWS

Lord Luis was reserve Champion at the Scottish 3year old Loose Jumping finals at Dabbs Arena, Fife. He was described by the Danish judge Mr R Wallerbosch as the horse he would love to take home and gave him scores of 9/10 for suitability, attitude and scope and 8.5 for conformation, take off and technique. He was narrowly beaton by the Scottish, Inglistons Stud Wooster

Millfield Stud hosted an Oldenburg grading and branding day. Three of our foals are now branded Oldenburg with two receiving premiums.

Millfield Corrana and Millfield Continuation received premiums along with several other top class foals presented by their breeders to the German graders on their flying visit to the UK

We had a fantastic day with our youngstock doing exceptionally well.

Millfield Ballyhoo won the show jumping foal championship and then the overall foal championship. He ended up the second highest scoring horse of the whole Championships including foals to 3 year olds.  Millfield Corrana was also reserve champion show jumping foal and reserve champion overall.

Millfield Contentious won the eventing yearling championship and was reserve champion overall.

Vincent was winner of the 4 year old and over sports hoare class at the CHAPS Championship show and then went on to become Sportshorse Champion.

We attended the British Breeding Futurity Championship qualifier at Arena UK with two more foals and a yearling. All three gained 1st Premiums. Millfield Vanilla (our coloured filly by our own stallion Vincent) was awarded 8.3 overall and 9 out of 10 for athletism and praised for her outstanding walk.
Millfield Corrana gained an overall score of 8.8 the joint highest scoring foal of the day. Millfield Contentious gained a 8.4 and was the highest scoring yearling of the day.

Three of our mares who have been in Germany for insemination have now arrived home. Fortuna, a State Premium mare by Capitol 1 in foal to Contender, Fancy by Laganta Express xx in foal to Lancer11 and Ragna, a Bezirks Premium mare by Lansing in foal to Con Air.

We attended the British Breeding Futurity Championship Qualifier at Stafford with two of our foals Millfield Continuation and Millfield Ballyhoo. Both foals were awarded 1st premium for having overall scores of over 8 with Ballyhoo gaining 8.8 overall and being the highest scoring foal of the day again being highly praised by the judges. They both qualify for the finals in September.

Millfield Stud attended the KWPN, UK mare grading and foal show at Myrescough College, Lancashire where we had an excellent day.

Hortense (Wolfgang/Voltaire) who already holds the sport predicate for show jumping was also made a Ster mare. Her colt foal, Millfield Ballyhoo (Balou de Rouet) won the colt foal class and was Reserve Champion foal despite being the youngest foal. He was described as elegant and very athletic with very correct conformation.

Millfield Selma (Lux Z / Calato) was also made a Ster mare with very high marks of 75 in the free jumping and 70 for movement. She was also Reserve Champion mare overall.

Pretty Woman (See Broodmares) has given birth to a super filly foal by Cassini 1 called Millfield Cassandra. This filly has an outstanding show jumping pedigree and is already powerfull and athletic.

We are again very pleased that we have another foal due by embryo transfer for next year. This foal is by our own stallion Lord Luis out of Millfield Selma (Lux Z /Calato/ Landgraf 1) who is currently competing in showjumping.

Belle-a-Balou gave birth to a lovely colt foal by Rolex (Guaranco/Concorde) called Millfield Roly Poly. This foal is brave and athletic and with a super pedigree should make a top class showjumper and is for sale.

On the 25.06.06 Concordia our Holstein mare by Cathargo Z (see Broodmares) gave birth to an outstanding filly foal by Contender. We have high hopes for this filly who is called Millfield Continuation being from a proven dam and damline, as a future competition and breeding prospect.

On the 17.06.06 Hortense our Sport Elite mare by Wolfgang (See broodmares) had superb colt foal by Balou de Rouet called Millfield Ballyhoo. This is our third foal this year by Balou and we are delighted with them all and this one is no exception being tall, elegant with a lot of presence and very athletic. Another star for the future is also for sale.

On 08.06.06 Cantate, our State Premium Holstein broodmare, gave birth to an outstanding grey filly foal by Corrado 1. This filly already oozes quality and has an outstanding competition or breeding future ahead of her.

On 26.05.06 Sunset, our elite graded mare (see Broodmares), gave birth to a fantastic bay colt by Sunny Boy called Millfield Suntan. He is tall with loads of character and is a definite top class dressage prospect and is for sale.

We are excited to announce that we have our first foal due by embryo transfer for next year. This is the first attempt by Aireworth vets, Keighley at carrying out embryo transfer and they are delighted with the result. The foal is by Vincent out of the Hanoverian mare Comtessa who has already produced two outstanding foals.

On the 10.05.06 Connie (see broodmares) gave birth to a lovely filly foal by Balou de Rouet. She is a super, short coupled, athletic foal and is called Millfield Bemused.

Nadie Go (see broodmares) has given birth on 17.5.06 to an excellent colt foal by Solitaire. He is very long legged and extremely friendly. Both he and his mum are offered for sale together or separately at weaning. Please contact us  for further details.

VINCENT'S FIRST FOAL IS BORN

A very dark bay and white filly with a beautiful head. Her dam is Ramona (see broodmares) by Rotspon. She is called Millfield Vanilla and is for sale.

Vincent was 2nd in the 4 year old Sports Horse Class at the SHGB Spring Breeders Show at Myrescough College. This was his first outing under saddle and the first time he had seen a course of fences.

Our first foal of 2006 has been born on the 6th March. It is a colt foal by Balou de Rouet out of Once A Day (see broodmares). He is called Millfield Baloney and already has fabulous movement and he is for sale.
